Comparing offerings side by side

Build a focused comparison

Open Compare offerings and add up to four offerings. You can start from an offering's Add to Compare action, choose from recently viewed offerings, or search from the comparison page. Remove an offering at any time to reshape the view.

The comparison aligns the same published attributes across columns. It includes provider and location context, credential or program type, category, delivery and schedule details, duration, price, description, audience, and available skills. Shared standardized skills are identified across the selected offerings.

Treat blanks as source boundaries

CredScape displays information from original sources without filling missing values. Not published means the source did not provide a usable value for that attribute. It is not a zero, and it should not be treated as evidence that the offering lacks the feature.

Prices need a separate check. Compare prints every positive price as an unlabelled dollar figure. It does not identify the currency beside that figure. Before treating two prices as comparable, open each offering and check its market and source. A platform price can also follow a different model from institution-run tuition, so the smallest dollar figure is not necessarily the lowest comparable price.

Save the view or build a set

Save the comparison when you want to return to the same selected offerings. The library stores it as a fixed view, so it cannot be monitored for alerts. Use the Comparable set workbench when your task is different: defining a defensible peer boundary, reviewing candidates, documenting exclusions, and producing benchmark figures.

Comparison answers, “How do these chosen offerings differ?” A comparable set answers, “Which offerings belong in the benchmark, and why?” Keeping those decisions separate makes both views easier to explain.
