Terms of Use

Agreement to these terms
CredScape is operated by CredScape Market Intelligence Inc., a federal corporation under the Canada Business Corporations Act that is registered extraprovincially in British Columbia.
By using the CredScape website or platform, you accept these terms. If a customer's signed subscription agreement conflicts with these terms, the signed subscription agreement takes precedence.
Who may use the service
An authorized user is an employee or contractor of a customer organization that holds a current subscription and has assigned a seat to that person. Users are responsible for keeping their credentials confidential. Seat and access details are set out in the customer's subscription agreement and order form.
What CredScape is
CredScape is a market-intelligence data product covering non-credit and micro-credential programs from Canadian and US post-secondary institutions and platform providers. It is not a course marketplace, consulting service or source of academic advice. Each institution remains responsible for its own buying decisions.
Our intellectual property
The compiled corpus, its structure, our classifications and taxonomy, the interface and our software belong to CredScape. We do not claim ownership of the underlying facts about publicly offered programs. We do claim rights in the compilation, structure and enrichment of those facts.
Permitted use
Authorized users may use CredScape for internal institutional analysis, program planning, and reporting to boards, senates and internal committees. They may quote figures in internal or published reports with this attribution: "Source: CredScape (credscape.io)".
All permitted use must benefit the customer's own institution.
Restrictions, including automated access
You must not:
- Share credentials.
- Systematically copy, download, scrape or extract the dataset, whether manually or by automated means, including crawlers, scripts and scrapers.
- Redistribute, resell, sublicense or transfer data to third parties.
- Use the dataset, its structure or its interface to build a competing product or service.
- Circumvent rate limits, export caps, authentication or other technical controls.
- Use the data to make automated decisions about individuals, including admissions, hiring, credit or academic assessment.
These restrictions apply to the public website and the authenticated product. Continued use constitutes acceptance of them.
Third-party sources and accuracy
Our corpus is compiled from publicly published institutional sources. We work to keep it accurate and current, but we do not warrant that every record is complete or error free. Institutions may request corrections through our data requests page.
Availability
We aim to keep the service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Planned maintenance and service levels, where they apply, are set out in the customer's subscription agreement.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
CredScape is provided on an as-is basis to the extent permitted by law. Our liability is limited to the fees paid by the customer in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for decisions taken in reliance on the data. Some jurisdictions do not permit certain exclusions, so those exclusions apply only to the extent permitted by law.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for a breach of these terms. We use a graduated approach: notice, then throttling, then suspension, then termination. We may take immediate action for severe security threats or large-scale automated extraction.
Changes to these terms
We notify users of material changes at least thirty days before they take effect.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. The courts of British Columbia have jurisdiction.
